Management Information Systems (MIS) – Administrator (Data)

Band 2 (£15,736 - £19,710)

Location: Headquarters, Nottingham

We require a committed and dynamic individual to work in this role to provide:

  • User support (including to MIS colleagues)
  • Data and system administration
  • System implementation support activities including data migration and quality assurance tasks
  • Regular data input and cleansing activities
  • Produce queries, reports and analysis to support MIS functions
  • Administrative support for Information Security and Data Protection activities

This position requires someone who is able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and who is committed to improving the quality of information in our offender management systems and to providing a quality service to our users and customers.

Applicants must be proficient in the use of computers as this post involves working with offender databases and information systems. It is essential that the post holder can maintain a high degree of accuracy when working at speed inputting and correcting data.

This post does not involve offender contact.

Senior Administrative Officer

Band 3: £19,909 - £25,974 p.a.

We require a full time Senior Administrative Officer to manage the day to day administrative processes with our CentralAdmin Unit at Headquarters.

Duties include the supervision of administrative staff, the day to day running of a busy central admin department, including reception, monitoring building maintenance and repairs, catering arrangements, purchasing system and reprographics service.

You will be well-organised with relevant supervisory and administrative experience and possess good word processing abilities together with excellent interpersonal skills. You must be able to prioritise, make decisions when under pressure and be able to motivate a team. Some knowledge of health and safety would be an advantage.

This role does not involve offender contact.

Receptionist (part time – 25 hours per week) (

Band 1: £13,203 - £15,736 p.a. (pro rata)

We require a part time receptionist at our Headquarters to work 8.30am – 1.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Duties include receiving and assisting visitors, dealing with telephone calls and logging information.

You must have the ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to deal with difficult situations when necessary, have previous experience of reception, IT work and excellent interpersonal skills.

This role does not involve offender contact.

Case Administrators (ref: 229)
Band 2 £15,736 - £19,710 (pro rata for part time)

We require Case Administrators, both full time and part time, to undertake interesting and confidential work at our offices in Nottingham and around the county.

You will work in small units with Probation practitioners and be responsible for establishing and maintaining administrative systems for monitoring offenders, the receipt of CPS and Police paperwork, liaison with other agencies and preparation of breach papers. Duties include maintaining a diary system for offenders’ appointments, preparing and closing of files and recording results.

You will be well-organised with relevant administrative experience and possess good word processing abilities together with excellent interpersonal skills. A flexible approach and an interest in the Probation Service are also essential.  You will be willing to work outside office hours on occasion.
