Working in Probation

Do you want a career that is worthwhile and will make a real difference to people's lives as well as protecting our communities?

Nottinghamshire Probation Trust can offer:
  • Rewarding work
  • Structured career development
  • The opportunity to join a professional organisation committed to recruiting a workforce representative of the counties' diverse communities.
Focusing on performance, and exceeding many of our targets, has seen us rise to be amongst the best Probation Trusts, moving us closer to our vision of being a top performing organisation, protecting the public and reducing crime. We want you to work with 600 dedicated staff, playing a key role in our continuing improvement and our contribution to a safer Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire is one of 42 Trusts which form the National Probation Service.  Together with the Prison Service and other agencies working with convicted offenders, the National Probation Service makes up the National Offender Management Service (NOMS), a department of the Ministry of Justice.  NOMS has been established to decrease reoffending rates and increase rehabilitation.

Nottinghamshire Probation Trust is strongly committed to a policy of equal opportunity and opposes all forms of discrimination. Applications are welcome from all sections of the community and candidates will be selected solely on their ability to undertake the duties of the post.
