Article Title:Launch of Nottinghamshire Probation Trust

 


On 1 April 2010 we became Nottinghamshire Probation Trust.

As a Probation Trust Nottinghamshire will focus its work on local communities and reduce re-offending while providing the same high level of service to the courts and oversight of offenders.

The Probation Service carries out extremely valuable work protecting the public, reducing re-offending and supporting victims. In gaining Trust status, Nottinghamshire area has demonstrated good performance and a commitment to delivering locally tailored services to all communities.


Chief Executive for Nottinghamshire Probation Trust, Jane Geraghty said: ‘We are very pleased to have been granted approval to become a Trust. This is thanks in no small part to the hard work of our staff and partners in maintaining our excellent performance  - with one of the highest scores in relation to reducing reoffending'.



‘Becoming a Probation Trust is also an indicator that we are well respected nationally, regionally and locally’.
 

Probation Trusts are the key building blocks in reforming the way offenders are managed in custody and the community to reduce


re-offending and protect the public.
