Nottinghamshire Probation Area works with Police and Prisons to manage the supervision in the community of the most dangerous offenders, including violent and sexual offenders.  Members of the public are appointed as Lay Advisers to the MAPPA Strategic Management Board, with a vital role to play in scrutiny of the work.  Intensive supervision plans are designed to minimise the risk to the public from this group of offenders.
