Employment, Training and Education
It's a fact that employment, training and education are key factors in breaking the cycle of reoffending. Nottinghamshire Probation Area's Access Team work with offenders to:
- Identify any barriers to employment, training or education - common problems are qualifications and training, life and social skills
- Work with offenders to improve employability - by helping with job search and disclosure techniques, confidence and self-esteem
- Enable offenders to find and sustain employment - this may involve helping to find accommodation, maximising available benefits, or providing advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle
