A new performance target for compliance has been introduced for 2006/7, measuring the proportion of arranged appointments attended by offenders during the first six months of their orders.
In order to achieve the target, Outreach Mentors and Compliance Officers have been employed to focus on offenders at risk of failing their orders; and the number of home visits is being increased. By maximising attendance the aim is to reduce the proportion of orders and licenses requiring breach action, and increase those ending successfully.
