Audit of Accounts
Audit Commission Act 1998 - Sections 15-16
NOTICE is given that from 13th May to 3rd June 2008, any person interested may on application to Nottinghamshire Area Probation Headquarters, Castle Marina Road, Nottingham (Telephone 0115 8406464) between the hours of 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, inspect and make copies of accounts of the Nottinghamshire Probation Board for the year ended 31 March 2008 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto.
NOTICE is also given that on the 5th June 2008 at 10.00am and thereafter until the conclusion of the audit, the auditor at the request of a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, will give the elector or his representative an opportunity to question him about the accounts, and that any such elector or his representative may attend before the auditor and make objections as to any matter in respect of which the auditor can take action under Sections 17 and 18 of the Audit Commission Act 1998:-
- Any item of account which is alleged to be contrary to the law
- Particulars of any matter in respect of which it is proposed that the auditor could make a report under section 8 of the Act
Questions may be received at the Nottinghamshire Area Probation Headquarters by arrangement with the District Auditor, Mr John Cornett, The Audit Commission, Rivermead House, 7 Lewis Court, Grove Park, Enderby, Leicestershire LE19 1SU to whom requests for this purpose should be addressed. No objection may be made unless the auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and its grounds, a copy of which must be sent to Nottinghamshire Probation Board at the address below.
After the conclusion of the audit, the financial statements will be published on the Nottinghamshire Probation Board website www.nottinghamshire-probation.co.uk and will also be available on application to the Treasurer at Nottinghamshire Area Headquarters. Copies of the accounts may be purchased for £3.
